Digital cellular phone service available to residents of Waskaganish 2007-07-18

Today, Vincent Guimont, Vice-President of Sales and Strategic Solutions at Télébec, is very pleased to announce the official launch of a digital cellular phone service in Waskaganish.

The service is now available to over 2 200 residents in the community. In total, Télébec has invested $295 000 in the project.

"We are very proud to be able to offer digital cellular phone service, which will facilitate communications for the citizens of Waskaganish. This new infrastructure will also make their travels and activities safer. The project was made possible thanks to the excellent collaboration of the band council,” declared Mr. Guimont.

Télébec Mobilité products and services will be available to customers through an authorized dealer who will set up in the Waskaganish Eeyou First Nation Building from July 18 to 20. After the 20th, Waskaganish residents can then contact the authorized dealers, Vitrerie Pomerleau who can be reached at 1 800 567-6463 or Creetech Management Mistassini at 1 866 923-3560.

This new digital cellular site provides all of the advantages that the technology has to offer: call security, enhanced reliability of the technology, longer cellular phone battery life, and improved technological applications.
