Alexandre Despatie, winner of two World Championships gold medals 2005-07-29

Recently crowned world diving champion in both the one- and three-meter springboard, Alexandre Despatie will be Télébec’s special guest at the 41st Jeux du Québec Finals. He will be in Amos on August 5th and 6th, 2005.

Undisputed star of the FINA World Championships in Montréal, Alexandre will participate in the first press conference of the Finals on August 5th at 5 p.m., held in pressroom of the Centrale administrative (Polyvalente La Forêt). He will then speak during the Finals’ Opening Ceremony at the Agora naturelle.

On August 6th, Alexandre will be at a brunch held at 10:30 by Télébec for the company’s corporate clients. He will then make the most of his visit to the Finals by meeting hundreds of athletes as he tours the different venues. At about 4 :00 p.m., he will be at the Terrasse Télébec Mobilité at the Centre d’animation jeunesse (Sports complex).

A role model for young people

Alexandre’s encouragements will no doubt be received with great appreciation by the young athletes, for whom he is a true role model, not only for his athletic performances by also for his endearing personality.

The 20-year-old diver is no stranger to the Jeux du Québec Finals, having participated in the Jeux de Baie-Comeau in 1993 when he was only eight years old.

During his visit to Amos, Alexandre Despatie will be accompanied by Télébec’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Roch Dubé.

Télébec and its subsidiaries are proud to be major sponsor of the 41st Jeux du Québec Finals in Amos-Région. This event, which brings together young athletes from across the province, will be held from August 5th to the 13th, 2005, and already promises to be a great success.
