Télébec pledges its support : 41 Jeux du Québec Finals Amos-Région - Summer 2005 2005-02-11

AMOS, February 11, 2005 – Today, Sports Québec and Télébec announced a partnership agreement for the 41st Jeux du Québec Finals Amos-Région – Summer 2005, which will be held August 5th to the 13th. Under the terms of the agreement, Télébec will be title sponsor and the exclusive representative of the telecommunications industry.

“We are very pleased to announce our support. The Jeux du Québec (Quebec Games) celebrate sport, youth and Québec regions, and are a reflection of the Télébec personality: close to people, involved in our communities, and striving for excellence while always keeping the best interest of others in mind as we reach our goals. At Télébec, we are determined to surpass ourselves in a welcoming environment where camaraderie and joie de vivre prevail,” declared Roch Dubé, President and Chief Executive Officer of Télébec.

Part of Télébec’s participation includes furnishing equipment, materials and promotional tools. The company will supply wireline and mobile telephone service, and will provide a team of specialists to ensure the technical support of all telecommunication systems during the event.

“Télébec’s participation in this celebration of sport, of youth and of excellence shows our commitment to contribute to the advancement of amateur sport and especially to the development of young people. We hope that our participation in the Jeux du Québec will have a positive effect on the region’s sporting life, as well as on the entire community of Abitibi-Témiscamingue,” explained Roch Dubé.

Mr. Dubé is proud of Télébec’s participation in this important event and is particularly proud of the volunteer work of many Télébec employees who are helping to organize the event. Their participation is an important example of the company’s belief in the importance of always working in partnership with different local organizations to achieve common goals. In fact, Roch Dubé highlighted the importance of their contribution by affirming “the work of our employees in the field and in the community confirms their dedication and their desire to play an active role in the community.”

During the press conference held at the Maison des Jeux d’Amos-Région, Loufto, mascot of this year’s Jeux du Québec, presented the Games’ official knapsack. Under the partnership agreement between Télébec and the Jeux du Québec Amos-Région, the Télébec logo will be featured on the knapsack. The bag will be given to the 4 000 athletes, 800 attendants, 400 major officials and 250 missionaries who will each be participating in the event.

In addition, so as to increase the visibility of the Games, Télébec has designed a signature for the event. This signature will be used by each of the 750 Télébec employees in all their electronic communication.

This signature will also be featured on various communication tools including promotional campaigns, as well as on stationary, the website, invoice envelope backings, prepaid long distance cards and others.

In closing, Mr. Dubé thanked the Télébec employees working in the event’s different steering committees et wished great success to the organizers, attendants, and athletes, as well as to their parents and friends who support and encouragement them each day in the pursuit of their athletic dreams.
