Collective agreement with employees: a four-year agreement signed 2003-09-24

September 24, 2003 - Télébec and the union representing its 220 office employees, the Canadian Telecommunications Employees Association (CTEA), ratified a collective agreement effective until November 1, 2007. The agreement was accepted by a 67.2% majority, with 82% of eligible employees turning out for the vote.

“We are especially proud of this agreement because of the mutual respect demonstrated throughout the negotiations. Communication between the company and the union was better than every before,” said Robert Mailhot, General Manager – Labour Relations.

The main issues at the bargaining table were vacations, bumping rights, flexible work shifts and salary increases. “We were also able to settle the pay equity issue, which is excellent news for employees,” said Line Brisson, Vice-President of the CTEA.
