Télébec and Subsidiaries Harmonize Names and Logos 2003-01-15

January 15, 2003 – Isabelle Courville, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Télébec – NorthernTel group, today announced a name and logo harmonization initiative for Télébec’s subsidiaries. “Adopting new names and logos for our subsidiaries reflects our commitment to improving and simplifying our customers’ service experience. It will make it easier to identify who does what within the group as well as assuring our customers of the high quality for which Télébec has always been known”, said Isabelle Courville. Consumer research over the years has consistently demonstrated the high recognition and sound reputation of the Télébec brand. Harmonization Effective immediately, the names and logos of Télébec’s subsidiaries are as follows: 1) Télébec remains unchanged, as does its logo; 2) Télébec Internet replaces Lino Solutions Internet de Télébec and is represented by a new logo; 3) Télébec Informatique inc. replaces Logicon and is represented by a new logo; 4) Télébec Mobilité remains unchanged, but its logo has been standardized; 5) Cablevision du Nord de Québec remains, for legal reasons, as does its logo. Please refer to the enclosed documents to see examples. Background Télébec is harmonizing its corporate identity to strengthen brand positioning and to ensure instant recognition by its customers, both current and potential. The company has adopted an approach that promotes an integrated service offering to its customers. In the future, Télébec will be more able to offer "one-stop shopping" that will facilitate customer access to all products and services. Advertising Campaign Begins This Week Télébec will undertake a multimedia advertising campaign to inform customers and communities of these changes. Starting today, a televised corporate message will be broadcast on three television stations in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. As Denise Leduc, Télébec’s Director – Communications and Marketing, observes: "This is Télébec’s very first 60-second television spot. The ad, produced by Productions Nova Média of Rouyn-Noranda, and directed by Jean Fontaine, a native of Rouyn-Noranda, will give our customers an appreciation of the range of products and services offered by the Télébec group today. By the same token, our customers will get a sense of the company’s evolution these last few years." The advertising campaign also makes significant use of the print media.
