Call Trace can trace the last call you received if it is a harassing or threatening
call. The number can be recorded in the event that you wish the police
to take action against the caller. Call Trace provides evidence that can
be used in court.
You can subscribe
to Call Trace on a monthly basis, for unlimited use of the service. Or
you can opt to pay $5 each time you press *57, up to a maximum of $10
per month.
Call Trace only works
with the last call received. If you receive another call afterwards, or
if you hear the Call Waiting "beep" before you can activate
Call Trace, this last call or the call waiting will be traced rather than
the threatening call.
The caller's number
is recorded by Télébec alone and will only be released to
the police, if they request it. You will not be told the phone number
of the person who made the harassing or threatening call.
Call Trace currently
works with local and direct dialled long distance calls in calling areas
equipped with Call Trace technology. If Call Trace is unable to trace
the call, a voice message will let you know.
Call Trace can be
used from any phone connected to your telephone line and works in calling
areas equipped with Call Trace technology.
Consult the Call Management Service User Guide (Opens in New Window) for more details about the functionality of this option.
See the "Rates
and Service Bundles" section for the monthly subscription rates of the Call Management Services.
