Speed Calling
Allows you to use an abbreviated 1 or 2-digit code to dial a phone number, instead of dialing the whole number.
To program a 1-digit code (between 2 and 9):
- Pick up the receiver and wait for a dial tone.
- Dial *74.
- Listen for three (3) "beeps" followed by a dial tone.
- Enter a code between 2 and 9.
- Enter the phone number you wish to program -- remember to add 1 first for a long-distance call, as well as the area code (for all calls).
- Listen for two (2) "beeps". Hang up. The telephone number and its associated code are now programmed.
To program a 2-digit code (between 20 and 49):
- Pick up the receiver and wait for a dial tone.
- Dial *75.
- Listen for three (3) "beeps" followed by a dial tone.
- Enter a code between 20 and 49.
- Enter the phone number you wish to program -- remember to add 1 first for a long-distance call, as well as the area code (for all calls).
- Listen for two (2) "beeps". Hang up. The phone number and its associated code are now programmed.
To remove a Speed Calling code (by Internet only):
To remove a telephone number and its associated 2-digit code, you must use the Call Feature Manager web-tool:
- Go online to: http://telephony.telebec.com (Opens in New Window).
- Input your phone number and password, and then click on the "Contacts" tab.
- Click on the "Speed Calling" sub-tab.
- In your list of Speed Calling codes, click on the one you wish to remove, then click on the "trash" icon on the right.
How to use Speed Calling:
To use Speed Calling to dial a programmed number:
- Pick up the receiver.
- the 2-digit code, followed by the pound sign (#).
- The phone number will dial itself.
Certain conditions apply, including a 12-month commitment at time of subscription. Offer valid for residential customers only, where technology permits. The customer must have a Touch-tone phone. Rotary phones are not compatible. An Internet connection is required to access the Call Feature Management website. Display features require a phone equipped with a display window. Certain features are activated and deactivated by phone. |
