Phones that offer the Mobile Browser function have keys designed expressly to initiate your browsing sessions, scroll text, take you from one site to the next, return to the main menu or to the preceding page and create bookmarks.

Fast, discrete and compatible with all Canadian and American suppliers of mobile phone services, this feature - exclusive to digital technology - provides a new way of communicating.

Using your mobile phone

Use the alphanumeric keypad on your mobile phone to compose a message of up to 140 characters and send it to another mobile phone user who subscribes to an instant text messaging service and whose phone is compatible. **

You can also receive short messages on your mobile phone's display screen.

The ideal solution when you are expecting an urgent message but cannot be disturbed by a telephone call!

Since accessing instant text messaging may vary from one model to another, please refer to your mobile phone's manufacturer's user guide for more details.

Using the Télébec web site

In the comfort of your home or office, go to www.telebec.com and click on "Messagerie mobile". You will be directed to a page that allows you to send messages to others who subscribe to Telegr@f and whose mobile phone is compatible with text messaging. Follow these simple instructions:

  • Enter the area code followed by the 7-digit telephone number of the person you wish to send a message to.
  • Enter your name.
  • Enter your message (if your message exceeds 140 characters, it will be sent in segments).
  • Click on "Send" and your message will be forwarded within minutes. ***
  • A message of confirmation will appear on your computer screen.

Using your e-mail program

You are out of town and expecting an important e-mail message? No problem. By using a standard e-mail program and by indicating the address for Telegr@f text messaging, you can always be reached! Simply follow these instructions:

  • Enter, without spaces or hyphens, the area code and the 7-digit number of a Telegr@f subscriber, followed by "@" and "txt.telebecmobilite.com (example: 1234567890@txt.telebecmobilite.com).
  • Enter your message (if your message exceeds 140 characters, it will be sent in segments).
  • Click on "Send" and your message with be forwarded to a Telegr@f subscriber whose mobile phone is compatible within minutes.
  • Please note that you cannot attach files to your e-mails. It is also suggested that you simply use your name as a signature.

* Charge of 20 ¢ per additional text message sent or received. Additional charges may apply for messages received via dial-up networks , or from certain Web portals or e-mail applications. Charge may also apply if you participate to certain contests or promotional offers.

** If your message exceeds 140 characters, it will be divided and each part sending will be billed as one message.

*** If the person you wish to contact is in an area where digital technology is not available or if the person's mobile phone is turned off, your message will be sent later, once the person enters an area where digital technology is available or once the person's mobile phone is activated.

Additional charges of 25¢ per minute for wireless surfing will be billed to digital user or 5¢ per additional kilobyte for 1x and HSPA customers.Prices subject to change without prior notice.
