Sympatico Newsgroups service has been discontinued

Télébec wishes to inform its customers that the Sympatico newsgroups service is no longer available.

Introduced in the early days of the Internet, the purpose of Usenet newsgroups was to facilitate discussion and the dissemination of information on a large scale. The evolution of the Internet has since led to the appearance of new options: instant messaging, blogs, and Internet forums, among others. These have reduced the demand for newsgroups, as well as their popularity.

Nevertheless, we recognize that certain subscribers may wish to continue to use newsgroups. Télébec accordingly recommends that these customers use the bilingual Google Groups Google Groupes service. Users can create discussion groups on the topics of their choice. Please read the Terms of Service before registering Google Groupes.
