Q: What happens once I've ordered Personal Vault?
Once you've ordered Personal Vault, you will automatically be directed to your Personal Vault and can begin using it immediately. You will also be sent an email containing your username and password. We recommend that you keep this message for future reference.
Q: Can I use Personal Vault on my PC at work?
Some work networks have strict policies that might not allow access to your Auto Backup or might prevent you from running Auto Backup. Ask your employer before you sync your work PC with Personal Vault. Keep in mind that, if your home PC is synced with Personal Vault, you can access the files in your Personal Vault at any time, from any computer with an Internet connection.
Q: Will Personal Vault work with my firewall?
Auto Backup will work with most firewalls. Your firewall will prompt you to allow a connection to Auto Backup when you first use it. To do this, you may need to change your firewall settings or speak to your firewall supplier.
Q: Will you keep my files forever?
If you decide to cancel this service, Télébec will keep your files for a period of one month following the date of your subscription (example: if you subscribe on the 8th day of the month and you cancel your subscription on the 22nd day of the month, your data will be kept until the 7th day of the following month). After this period, all of your files will be deleted from our system.
Q: How do I pay for this service?
Télébec is pleased to offer the service at no charge for a few months. Shortly before the end of the trial period, you will receive email notification at the address you used when you ordered the service. You will then have the option of paying for your subscription by credit card or charging it to your phone bill.
Q: I'll be travelling and I want to see my photos online while on my trip. Can Personal Vault help me?
A: Personal Vault lets you access your backed up files remotely. You can also add new photos while away. Just log in to your Personal Vault from any computer with a high-speed connection, plug in a USB key (for instance) containing your photos, and click Upload. Follow the prompts to transfer data between your USB key and your Personal Vault.
Q: Can I print my photos from my Personal Vault?
Yes! From your Personal Vault, simply click on the photos you would like to print, and select 'Print'. You will be given options to print them on your printer.
Q: How long will it take to back up my data?
The length of time of your backup depends on two things: How many files you're backing up, and the speed of your Internet connection. The faster your connection, the quicker your files will be backed up.
Q: Can anyone else access my data?
Passwords are encrypted to make sure you're the only one with access to your data. Others can only access your Personal Vault if you give them your password.
Q: How secure is my data?
When you use Backup Manager to back up your files, your data is always encrypted when it is being sent to, or from, our data centre.

Q: I use CDs, DVDs or external drives to back up my personal files like photos and videos. Why would I need Personal Vault?
CD, DVD or external drive backup can be cumbersome and time-consuming. Not only do you have to manually back up all of your files, you have to remember what you have not backed up. Personal Vault is automatic, and can back up changes or additions to your files daily. CD, DVD or external drives are in your home. If a disaster happened in your home, all of your precious photos and videos would be lost forever. Personal Vault is an offsite data center, so your files would not be lost.
Q: Can I buy more space should I run out?
You cannot purchase additional space during the trial period. However, you will be able to purchase additional space once the trial period is complete.
Q: Why do I need to back up my files?
Computers crash, hard drives fail and files become corrupt. When these problems arise, personal photos, videos, and documents can be lost forever, unless they are safely and securely backed up. Personal Vault offers secure secondary offsite storage. If a disaster was to occur, your precious memories would be safe.
Q: What type of files should be backed up using the Personal Vault service?
Télébec Personal Vault should be used as a secondary backup solution for important data. We recommend that you back up any files from your computer that would represent a significant loss to you if your computer failed. This may include personal photos, videos, music, and documents.
